For all african children

Apr 2, 2008   //   by Nic Mando   //   inspirational  //  No Comments

I’m an African child
Born in Mozambique in the rich soil of mama Africa
I’m an African child who brings hope for the future
I’m an African child

I look at my left side, I see an African child whose
Future is doomed by crime.

I see an African child dying of alcohol, cocaine, drugs,
Marijuana, you name them.
I am an African child

At my right side, I see an African child suffering of rape,
Child abuse, emotional and physical abuse.
I’m an African child

I turn and look in the front, what do I see, hope and prosperity

The positive side of our future, how will this come true
I am an African child

African child commit yourself, say no to crime and HIV/Aids
No to violence
No to abuse and rape
No to prostitution and sex
And say yes to abstainance and education
I am an African child
Therefore I will speak up

I am an African child

Abandonment

Sep 3, 2007   //   by aimz   //   emotions  //  No Comments

Abandonment and suffering lurk in every dark and dreary street
searching and praying for something their stomach might meet
Dread and fear of their withering survival
Picking themselves up as much as their bodies able
Hope is lost when their needs are forgotten
Like a precious fruit thats left to go rotten
Everyday is lived as if its the last
Everything seemingly distant and vast
At night, trying to fall asleep is all they can take
Only wish is for their body to never again wake
But like the rest of their lifes their wish gets neglected
And they find themselves waking to yet another day,
worse than expected
Every step they take is painfully hard to bare
But people don't help, they just stop and stare

Revenge!

It takes over you with a passionate power
Building up inside until you become distant and sour
It possesses your thoughts, every second of everyday
You will do what you want and dont care what they say
They did it to you and now you'll get back
A rage fills you up and you need to attack
They deserve to suffer and pay for what they've done
You've planned everything else, all you need now is the gun
A few seconds of doubt make you sad and afraid
But you're overpowered and the feelings soon fade
It must be done now, the time is just right
Your heart starts racing, you're ready to fight!
The angry thoughts in your mind are finally freed
As you savagely carry out the unthinkable deed
Suddenly a coldness creeps inside of you
This is not right! What did you just do?!

My Mother

Jul 23, 2007   //   by Olwam   //   history  //  No Comments

For many years different men have abused you,
But you forgave no matter what you went through,
For years tears have run down your face and blood down your body,
But you chose to look after everybody.

For years you’ve seen other peoples suffering whilst ignoring your own,
You deserve to be treated with respect and that should be known,
For many years battles have been fought over and for you,
Now it’s a different kind of war as they sit there talking.

For years you’ve watched as your children lost their way,
For years you stood there without a word to say,
They mutilated and tormented your body without thinking twice,
But you continue to support us with all your might.

I just want to say how much I love you,
I shall forever love and cherish you,
No matter you’ll always be my mother,
I love you no matter what MY SOUTH AFRICA

I Am

Jun 20, 2007   //   by legacy   //   death  //  No Comments

Do not fear me because I am not to be feared,
I may come violently but please do not be scared,
I may bring pain and suffering but it is not who I am,
I am just a transporter of souls.

Often people attempt to run away when I approach but cannot escape,
I come to them all men or woman I do not discriminate,
You can look into a crystal ball but you won't know when,
Believe that it is me you will see at the end.

In the past they have tried and failed to stop me,
When the time is right I will be coming,
At a time I maytake one or I may take a hundred,
I am here to escort you to your day of judgement.

I am here to release you from the pains of this world,
I am the doorman to a whole new world,
I am that which is not to be feared even with last breaths,
I am what some may call DEATH

Hard livin

Will I make it past today ? I ask myself
As I stare outside the taxi window deep in thoughts
Witnessing accidents early in the morning on the way to work
Asking myself how do I know if I aint next on this death list?
Wondering why people die like this?
Is there a reason why I see it all?

Trying hard to make sense of it all
Heart pacing with rage as I feel no justice
Sensing this coldness the world has to offer
While others sleep on the street pavements
On an empty stomach in a blistering cold night
Deep inside I wanna leave it all behind
To a place where there is no pain

I know I should be great-full for today
Though yesterday I cried myself to sleep
From these though haunting me
As I see people suffering every where I go
Kids getting raped on a daily
While kids starving out there
Due to the greed of our leaders
When they use young blood to fight for their cause
Brain wash our brother to kill each other

Need I make it past today to see tomorrow that never comes
Is there a need or will I ever understand?
Why there is no peace in this world we live in.

in her eyes

Jan 25, 2007   //   by ponqo   //   woman & woman  //  No Comments

when you look at her you see a woman
an old, ragged woman with nothing but the torn clean rags she were.
she is a woman, no extraordinary woman but she still remains a woman
who hides her suffering under her beautiful smile
a woman who can caress you with her roughened her
but with her first touch you will feel loved.

i want you to look at her, not at her scarred face but at her eyes.
try to understand why she allowes her man to beat her up.
she is no punching bag but she takes his punches with pride
allowing herself to cry, not at the pain but to asure him that he is stronger,
whilst she remains even stronger for the both of them, because should she fail…
he would surely die.

she hold the thing dear to her close to her heart
she holds herself dear
not her body but herself
the spirit that rages through her like a wild fire
a spirit that refuses to give up
or be suffocated by the misconceptions of others.

old she looks to the ordinary eye
childess you think because the pain of burying her children lies buried in heart
very old and sad she looks until you have looked into her eyes
than you will realise that she is young
she has let go of her past but has not given up
in her eyes is where her happiness is revealed
